Non-fiction - Read (Summer 2009)

The Literacy Committee at Greene Central High School hopes to promote summer reading among students; furthermore, we hope to encourage the reading of nonfiction, both historical and memoir.  In order to give students variety and choices, four books were selected per grade level.  Based upon a student's upcoming school year, he or she should click on the appropriate grade.  There, each student chooses the one book he/she would most like to read.  The Reaction Guide to accompany the story must be completed and turned in to the library (or Mrs. Wooten) by Friday, September 4, 2009 (absolute deadline) for 30 points on his/her first major English test of the 2009/2010 school year.  This is required of every student at Greene Central High School.  In addition, Honors students must also read two other books selected by the English teacher (also listed under the appropriate grade).  Honors students will be given an essay test on these two books the first week of school in the fall (to count as a grade).

Books may be checked out at GCHS's office on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9-11, during the summer.  Call Brenda Wooten (747-3814; ext. 185) with questions.  Happy Reading!
